1932 Lincoln KB V-12 Berline by Judkins
SOLD - Off to the family of the Original owner!
3-Time Award Winner at Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance: 1989 • 2001 • 2010
This 1932 Lincoln KB V-12 Berline was custom-bodied by the John B. Judkins Company of Merrimac, Massachusetts. One of 17 made (and now 1 of just 2 known survivors), it was delivered to Lincoln on December 31, 1931, its original owner is now unknown. In the late-1980's it was acquired by veteran Lincoln collector, Roy Warshawsky (owner of J.C. Whitney Auto Parts Co.) in Chicago. Then followed a multiple-year, frame-off restoration to return the car to factory condition. Following completion, it was shown at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance three times where it received awards including First in Class and Outstanding Lincoln of the show.
It has also received CCCA "Premier" status, having been judged First Place in three different national showings.
Mr. Warshawsky kept this Lincoln until his passing, when it was acquired by noted collector, Gene Nau, who showed and toured the car in Classic Car Club of America events until passing it to its current owner, also a noted Classic Car Club of America member, in the Pacific Northwest.
This Lincoln is now one of just 2 known to survive in this "Two Window" (blind rear quarter panel) configuration. Riding on a 145 inch wheelbase, it is impressive from every angle. Finished in correct Brewster Green body with black fenders and accents, the paint is superb, with no blemishes or damage and a deep shine. The padded black leather top is excellent, as is all of the chrome and trim. The undercarriage is spotless and appears as-new.
The interior is gorgeous with correct grey wool fabric in both front and rear compartments. Instrument panel is beautiful with a full compliment of working gauges that read accurately. Front seat is adjustable. Ventilation in the front compartment is provided by two vents in the lower kick panels, as well as a cowl vent and dual windshields which open out for additional cooling when desired. Division window glass raises and lowers to separate the front and rear compartments. The rear is upholstered in the same grey wool as the front. 3 shades offer privacy over the rear windows when wanted. A side-facing, folding jump seat slides out-of-sight beneath the front seat - a unique configuration. All interior lights work. There is also a working intercom microphone and speaker for communication between the occupants of the rear compartment and the driver. All glass is excellent throughout. Interior window and door hardware is plated in nickeled silver.
Mechanically excellent with fully rebuilt and detailed 448 cubic inch "fork and blade" V-12 engine. 150 horsepower. Starts easily, runs smoothly with excellent power. 3-speed manual transmission shifts easily. Excellent 4-wheel vacuum servo-assisted mechanical brakes. Newer Bedford wide whitewall tires hold the road well. Dual side mounted spare tires with mirrors. Hubcaps with correct blue cloisennae emblems. Folding trunk rack.
