Delivered new by Knudson Motors in Racine, Wisconsin on January 5, 1937. In approximately 2015 this Packard 120C Convertible Coupe received a six-figure, frame-off, nut-and-bolt restoration to make this car a standout on the show field or on the road.
Stripped to bare metal, the body was refinished in correct Packard "Indian Maroon" color. The paint and body fit is exceptional throughout. All chrome was re-plated to show quality and presents beautifully today. "Goddess of Speed" radiator ornament is lovely. New, correct runningboard mats were fitted. The interior upholstery and rumble seat were finished in imported glove-soft maroon leather, that along with the black Haartz cloth convertible top were sewn and fitted by one of the lead upholsterers for Lear Jets. Top and interior are spotless and fit like a glove. The wood grained dashboard and interior trim are beautiful, as are the chromed accent pieces. All gauges were rebuilt and register accurately. The radio and clock were restored but the wires disconnected to eliminate battery drain when the car is stored.
The original 282 cubic inch, 120 horsepower Packard straight 8 engine was fully and correctly rebuilt, along with the transmission and running gear. All other mechanical systems were rebuilt. Starts, runs, drives, shifts and stops beautifully. Independent front suspension and 40wheel hydraulic brakes as new. Correct bias-ply whitewall tires wrap the wheels accented by correct hubcaps and trim rings. Spotless undercarriage that is truly "clean enough to eat from!"
Driven only about 50 miles since restoration. Recent tune-up and new fuel pump. Runs and drives without fault.
If you are looking for a very correct Packard convertible that is turn-key ready to show or go, this is a fine one.
