VIDEO TOUR COMING SOON.
This 1939 Ford Deluxe Woody Station Wagon was refurbished prior to being acquired by its current owner in 2025.
The steel bodywork is finished in maroon with a brilliant, deep shine. The doors, quarter panels, and tailgate are fashioned from wood and beautifully finished. This Woody is topped by a correct black vinyl cobra-grained roof panel. Exterior details include a split windshield, reverse-hinged rear doors, sliding rear side windows, and a lift-up hatch over a drop-down tailgate along with bright chromed bumper bars, black rubber running board treads, a driver-side mirror, a rotating radio antenna, and “Deluxe” badging.
Correct 16″ steel wheels wearing chrome V8-branded hubcaps and trim rings are mounted with Coker wide whitewall tires installed in 2025. The car rides on transverse leaf springs and lever-action shocks at both ends. Braking is handled by hydraulic drums, which were introduced for the 1939 model year. The front leaf spring assembly was replaced in 2019.
Powered by a rebuilt stock 221ci, 85 horsepower flathead V8 mated to a three-speed manual transmission. This car starts easily, runs smoothly with excellent power and acceleration. Shifts crisply and stops well. Recent additional work included replacing the starter, distributor cap and rotor, ignition coil, condenser, points, front spring leaf assembly, and exhaust resonators. The wiring and fuel sender were repaired, and a 6 volt alternator conversion, mechanical fan, mechanical coolant-temperature gauge, fog lamps, and quartz headlight conversion kit were also installed.
The cabin features three rows of bench seats trimmed in brown genuine leather (installed in 2025) with matching sun visors as well as a Deluxe woodgrain-finished steel dash, wood door panels, and a wood plank headliner. Amenities include a cabin heater, a clock, Ford radio, black rubber floor mats, and lap belts for all three seats. The banjo-style steering wheel fronts a 100-mph speedometer and a matching four-in-one combination gauge that displays fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and charging status. The working, five-digit odometer shows 10k miles.
If you're looking for one of the finest 1939 V8 Woody Wagons available today, this is a wonderful car in all respects. It could not be restored to this level today for the asking price.
