VIDEO TOUR COMING SOON.
This 1952 Packard 250 Mayfair Hardtop was sold new by Packard Wilkinson in Wilkinson, Pennsylvania. Sparingly used, the original owner moved to Florida and later Palm Springs, California where the car saw limited use. Purchased by the current owner in 2022 with 41,217 miles, it now shows 41,906 which is believed to be correct total mileage from new.
Excellent original paint and chrome. Body is rust-free throughout. Finished in Packard "Turquoise Light" with "Ivory" top. The interior (designed by prominent interior decorator of the day, Dorothy Draper), is original and gorgeous. Gray striped wool broadcloth with genuine leather accents. Truly a time capsule.
All gauges work and register accurately, as does the factory radio and clock. Rare Packard accessory swing-out tissue dispenser under the dashboard. All lights (inside and out) work. Trunk includes spare wheel/tire and restored original jack with box. Undercarriage is clean and confirms the low-mileage and fine care this car has received over the decades.
The current owner fully rebuilt the original Packard 327 cubic inch "Thunderbolt" straight 8 engine less than 500 miles ago. It was a complete re-build with nothing left undone. Starts easily, runs smoothly and quietly as was the hallmark of Packard. 150 horsepower with properly-shifting Ultramatic transmission makes this a true highway cruiser. Newer radial whitewall tires wrap the chromed wire wheels. Brake system rebuilt and stops well.
There is little to add. If you are looking for an uncommon Packard that is dialed-in for enjoyable motoring anywhere, this is a great choice!
