Produced on December 16, 1964 at the Ford Dearborn factory, this early 1965 Fastback came off the line with the "A" code features: 289 V8 4-barrel engine creating 225 horsepower. Originally finished in Raven Black. With rare factory air conditioning option. Sold in Atlanta, Georgia.
This Mustang came to Oregon in the 1980s. Fully restored and upgraded in the 1990s to "K" code specifications:
• Original 289 bored and built to Hi-Po specs. 271 horsepower!
• 6000 rpm Rally Pack with 140 mph speedometer.
• Special order 4 speed manual top-loader transmission. Brakes, Steering, Choke are all manual.
• New custom dual exhaust.
Mechanical restoration included all new:
• New High performance PowerMaster alternator, Interstate battery, battery tray, Pertronix ignition.• New KYB shocks, rubber bushings, motor mounts, lower control and A arms, right front bumper support, clutch linkage, brake plate and brake light switch.
• New Legendary Aluminum Wheels Magnum's wrapped in offset BF Goodrich Radial T/A's (with custom Mustang logo valve stem covers.
• Tires are P225/60 R15 (25.6) in the front - P235/60 R15 (26.1) in the back.Again, these are ALL BRAND NEW.
Exterior:
The car was fully repainted in 1965 Mustang "Rangoon Red" with white striping.Paint is very good overall with a deep shine. Presents well for local showing.
Chrome plating is bright and shows well.
All lights work including dual front fog/driving lights with correct switch.
Interior:
• New Dash pad.
• New front seat covers and cushioning. The back seats are original and are in very good condition (no cuts, stains, cracks, etc).
• New Kenwood Excelon Stereo with Bluetooth. Kicker 4x10 center speaker, new Polk 6-1/2" speakers in the kick panels with separate tweeters with a passive 6db crossover.
• Day/night mirror, wood grain instrument panel and glove-box.
• New wood steering wheel. Original Mustang steering wheel is in the trunk.
• New correct gray houndstooth trunk liner and spare tire/wheel cover.
• Original factory air conditioning has been completely rebuilt with new modern compressor, hoses and components.
